Guidelines To All ANGKASA Users
GENERAL
  1. Use recommended browser for optimal performance
    - IE 6.0 and above
    - Netscape 7.1 (or latest version of Mozilla) and above with pop-up block feature disabled on www.librarynet.com.my
    - Multi-lingual support from the browser is required
 
  2. Install all recommended tools
    - Acrobat Reader
    - Macromedia Flash
    - MS Office Viewer
    - Real Player
    - Multilingual Pack
 
  3. Use of LibraryNet
    - To get most up-to-date products info and libraries news and events
    * Services provided are free *
 
MEMBER MANAGEMENT
  1. User education and publicity when starting ANGKASA
    - Preparing the members
    - Prepare the staff
    - Launching
    - Exhibition
    - Poster and write-ups
 
  2. Public Internet PCs
    - Install MS Office Viewers so that members can view attachments or documents
    - Desktop management should be implemented
 
  3. OPAC Stations
    - Not encouraged to be used for Internet Surfing
    - Should be placed where librarians can easily view the screens
 
ANGKASA LIBRARY USERS
  1. Roles within ANGKASA
    - Library Admin : One person per library
    - Module Admin : Administrator for one module, for example Circulation
    - Module users
  2. Licenses
    - Circulation and Member management have site licenses
    - There is no need to share user accounts
 
PERIPHERALS
  1. Default format of barcode
    - 3 NNNN 999999999
    - Where NNNN is the location code
 
  2. Usage of Barcode Readers for counter
    - Recommended but not a requirement
 
  3. Circulation receipts
    - Recommended but not a requirement
    - Libraries can still practice stamping dates on the books
