Example: Subject Heading for Book

- Find out the main topic about the book.
- Then for subject heading, cataloger can obtained it from LCSH as it listed all kind of information on any subject.
LCSH is a control vocabulary lists of subject terms for cataloger use so that user can easily find the items. LCSH
also allows you to browsing for useful subject headings and search terms.
- For example, the book “Object-Oriented systems development” is about system design and object-oriented programming.
- You can search through the LCSH for subject headings in correct terms. LCSH are arranged alphabetically and some of
the heading are in boldface to show the cataloger the term that should be use.
- A book can have more than 1 subject heading.
